Nikon Nikkor Lens
According to the varying needs of different kinds of people, there are various lenses on offer. And Nikon is a name which you can trust in this regard. Nikkor is the brand of lens produced by Nikon Corporation. This is inclusive of the camera lenses for the Nikon F-mount. Introduced by Nippon Kogaku KK in 1932, the Nikon Nikkor lens has come a long way. Nikon’s original corporate name is the same as the founder of the Nikkor brand.
Some significant Nikkor lenses which are used today or have been used in the past are enlisted below:
- Lenses for Bronica and Plaubel Makina medium format cameras
- Amphibious lenses used in underwater Nikonos cameras.
- Photographic enlarger lenses of EL-Nikkor
- Lenses used as microscope objectives
- F-mount lenses for 35mm SLR and DSLR photography.
- Lenses for Plaubel Makina and Bronica medium format cameras.
- Lenses for large format photography
- Lenses for Canon’s “Hanza Canon” which was its first or second camera.
- Lenses to support the Japanese war effort during World War II.
- Lenses used for industrial purposes
- Lenses for Leica rangefinder cameras and Nikon S-series.
Currently, the Nikon’s F-mount photography lenses are the most widely marketed. These lenses are designed to cover the 24x36mm area of 135 film. Another Nikon Nikkor lens is the Nikon FX format. These "DX" designated lenses, are designed to cover 16x24mm area of the Nikon DX format. Nikon F-mount are Nikon Nikkor lenses which form the largest system of interchangeable flange – mount photographic lenses in history. These lenses are designed for the 135 (35mm) and Nikon DX formats. The Nikon Nikkor lens of the DX format is an image sensor format of approximately 24 X 16 mm. Its size is two third of the 35 mm film format.
A Nikon Nikkor lens is a commitment to perfection. This is owing to the fact that Nikon makes its own glass for their camera lenses. And they have been doing that for 75 long years. Nikon is, in fact, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of optical glass.

Several months before the D90 came out, I bought a D60 to hold me over until the D90 was released. Well, I’ve enjoyed using both cameras, but this one is a huge step up and more suited to an advanced enthusiast, like me.
